Flor de Caña Coco (Licor Tropical de Coco)

Flor de Caña Coco is a flavoured coconut liqueur made by Compania Licorera in Nicaragua, built on the distillery's molasses rum and pitched squarely at long drinks and cocktails rather than the sipping chair. Flor de Caña the rum is known for slow ageing with no added sugar, but this is a different proposition entirely, a sweet coconut spirit at just 17% that should be read as a liqueur, not a dry aged ron.

The aroma is intense fresh coconut over tropical fruit, and the palate follows with coconut and clear sweetness rounded off by a fresh, herbal finish. It lands close to the familiar coconut-rum template but plays a little drier and greener, with herbaceous and tropical-fruit notes giving it more interest than most. It works best where that is the point, stretched over ice in a blend or a tiki-style pour rather than judged as a straight rum.
