A 35 Year Old Nicaraguan rum from Flor de Cana, slowly aged in Ex-Bourbon oak and bottled at 45%, made in the house style with no added sugar so its long maturation, not dosage, does the work in the glass.
Description
Flor de Cana 135th Anniversary Rum is a Nicaraguan Extra Anejo from Compania Licorera, carrying a 35 Year Old statement and aged in Ex-Bourbon oak. Flor de Cana is known for slow ageing and a genuinely dry approach, adding no sugar, which sets it apart from many sweeter Spanish style rons and makes its age statement meaningful.
Three and a half decades in Ex-Bourbon casks should give a deep, oak driven profile, with vanilla, dried fruit, tobacco and warm baking spice over a dry, spirit forward frame. Bottled at 45% rather than reduced to the usual 40%, it carries more weight and drive than a standard anejo. With no added sugar to round it off, it is a drier, more serious old Nicaraguan rum for slow sipping.
