Description
An Enmore from Decadent Drinks under their Rum Sponge label, distilled in 1992 and matured thirty-one years. The wooden Enmore stills give this its woody backbone, and three decades have turned that into something dark and remarkably composed for its age.
Bottled at natural cask strength of 58.4% from ex-bourbon oak and left unsweetened, it shows dark wood, licorice, leather, dried fruit and chocolate, with a long, dry finish that seems to run on and on. What sets it apart is balance, the wood and strength held in check rather than dominating, which is unusual in rums this old. A refined, slow sipping Demerara that rewards close attention, and a fine example of the heavy old Enmore profile at its most polished.
