Cask 1769 is a single cask, cask strength entry in the Dunville's revival run by Echlinville at Kircubbin, Co. Down, drawn for an event bottling in 2023. It carries no age statement, letting the cask rather than a number tell the story, a Palo Cortado sherry cask holding Irish single malt.

Full maturation in Palo Cortado wood is uncommon, and it shows, walnut and hazelnut, dried fig, a saline edge and a swell of malt underneath, delivered undiluted at 58.5%. Water opens honey and baked apple, in the house style of Echlinville's sherried Dunville's releases, and the small single cask outturn puts this firmly in enthusiast territory.
