Description
The 21 Years Old Palo Cortado finish sits near the top of the Dunville's range, the Belfast brand revived by Echlinville at Kircubbin, Co. Down. Its age tells the sourcing story plainly, malt distilled in the early 2000s at another Irish site and brought to its final shape in Echlinville's warehouses before this 2022 European release.
Long ex-bourbon maturation built a base of vanilla and soft malt extract before the Palo Cortado casks, a rare sherry that combines nutty dryness with Oloroso weight, layered in baked apple, dried fruit and gentle walnut. At 46% the texture stays supple, an old Irish malt that has kept its fruit.
