Description
Three Crowns was the blend that carried the Dunville's name around the world from Victorian Belfast, and Echlinville, the estate distillery at Kircubbin, Co. Down, brought it back as the approachable heart of its revived range. This edition adds an Oloroso sherry cask finish to the recipe, bottled at 43.5% for Europe in 2022.
Ex-bourbon casks do the foundation work, giving toffee, vanilla and green apple, before the Oloroso finish folds in raisin, walnut and a gentle dried fruit warmth. The strength, a step above the usual 40%, thickens the texture and lets the sherry linger, an honest Irish blend with a long memory.
