Dead Island 2 is a limited edition blend released in 2023 under the Dunville's banner by Echlinville, the Kircubbin distillery in Co. Down that revived the historic Belfast brand. It sets aside the range's sherry heavy house style for something simpler, a no age statement blend built for casual pours.
Maturation is in ex-bourbon casks, which keep the profile classic, toffee, green apple, vanilla and a light cereal sweetness in the manner of the traditional Irish blend, richer whiskey softened with gentle grain. Bottled at 40%, it asks nothing more of the evening than a glass, ice optional.
