Description
A 20 Years Old single malt under the Dunville's flag, this 2022 release reaches back to Irish malt distilled around the turn of the millennium, long before Echlinville, the Kircubbin, Co. Down distillery behind the brand's revival, filled its first cask. Echlinville's contribution is the bonder's art, selecting the stock and steering the finish, with 3000 bottles released for Europe.
The whiskey matured in ex-bourbon casks before an Oloroso sherry finish, and unusually for its age it stays bright, lemon zest, fresh orchard fruit and cut hay over vanilla and fresh oak, the sherry adding a walnut warmth rather than weight. Bottled at 46%, it wears its twenty years lightly.
