Description
This 13 Years Old Dunville's single malt comes from one cask, number 1787, bottled in 2025 as an event release by Echlinville of Kircubbin, Co. Down, the distillery that returned the old Belfast brand to shelves after most of a century away.
The whiskey rested in Pedro Ximenez sherry wood, and thirteen years of that cask show in a pour that runs raisin, walnut, dark chocolate and treacle at a natural strength of 56.1%. It is a sherry lover's Dunville's, undiluted, with the underlying malt keeping a honeyed grip beneath the dark fruit, and a splash of water trades some of the treacle for baked orchard fruit and gentle oak spice.
