Description
The 10 Years Old PX cask bottling is the workhorse of the revived Dunville's range, the Belfast brand brought back to life by Echlinville, the floor malting estate distillery at Kircubbin, Co. Down. Bottled in 2022 for Europe, it is built from mature Irish malt selected and finished by the house while Echlinville's own spirit comes through behind it.
After a decade in ex-bourbon casks the whiskey moves to Pedro Ximenez sherry wood, the sweetest cask in the Jerez canon, which loads raisin, fig and toffee onto the vanilla base. Dried fruit and a sherried richness lead the palate, with enough malt underneath to keep it balanced, and 46% gives it a firmer stance than most Irish malts at this point on the shelf.
