A 9 year old single cask Jamaican from Scotland’s Dràm Mòr, an OWH-style Hampden pot still rum split between tropical and European ageing in ex-bourbon oak, bottled unsweetened at a powerful 62%.
Description
Dràm Mòr is a Scottish independent, and this single cask Jamaican is built from Hampden pot still spirit in the cleaner OWH register, matured in ex-bourbon oak across roughly three years tropical and six years European ageing before bottling at 62% cask strength without added sugar.
With OWH sitting at the lighter end of Hampden's marque range, this leans toward a warm, approachable funkiness rather than a full solvent assault, with overripe banana, pineapple, brown sugar and a touch of glue-edged hogo over oily weight. The split maturation tempers the tropical intensity with gentler European ageing. At 62% it is hot and concentrated, a controlled, fruit-driven Hampden for drinkers who want funk with structure.
