A Martinique blanc from Dillon, distilled from fresh cane juice on a column still and bottled at 50%, bright and tropical with lime, passion fruit and sugar cane over a floral, chamomile-tinged dry finish.
Description
Dillon is a historic Martinique distillery, and Ti Fle Ble is its blanc, made from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice as an unaged AOC white. Distilled on a column still and bottled at a lively 50%, it captures the estate's cane in its freshest form, an agricole built for the island's classic serves.
With no added sugar in the AOC manner, it noses on lime, sugar cane, vegetal greenery and florals, then drinks with passion fruit, sugar cane and tropical fruit over a soft chamomile note, finishing round, dry and light with a touch of hay. The fruit-forward side keeps it from being austerely green, making it inviting on the nose while staying true to agricole dryness. This is a natural Ti' Punch rum, the lime and cane already pointing the way, but it also works as an aperitif or a light neat pour for drinkers who like their whites fresh and fragrant.
