Connemara Cask Strength is the undiluted expression of Cooley's peated single malt, and this 2006 bottling for the Dutch market arrived at a formidable 60%. The Co. Louth distillery, founded by John Teeling in 1987, revived peated Irish malt with Connemara, and the cask strength version presents that revival with nothing held back.

Drawn from ex-bourbon casks without dilution or an age statement, it leads with heather smoke and spirit heat, then typically honey, green fruit and cereal sweetness as water opens it up. Double distilled, it has the texture to carry the strength. This is Connemara for drinkers who want the peat and the power in the same glass, with every small batch varying slightly in strength.
