Description
This Connemara Cask Strength was bottled for the Polish market at 60.1%, straight from the cask with no dilution. Connemara is the peated single malt of the Cooley distillery in Co. Louth, the whiskey that restored smoke to Ireland, and the cask strength bottlings are its most concentrated form, released in small batches whose strength shifts from run to run.
Ex-bourbon maturation and the absence of an age statement keep the focus on distillate and smoke, typically heather peat, honeyed malt and fresh orchard fruit delivered with real drive at full strength, while a drop of water draws out vanilla and softer fruit. Double distilled in the Scottish manner, it is the loudest voice in the Connemara range, made for slow sipping and patient dilution.
