This 1995 Connemara was bottled in 2007 for Spirits in the Sky in Germany, a single cask of peated Cooley malt from Co. Louth. Cask V00/2 253 gave an eleven year old whiskey, part of the German market's long appetite for individual Cooley casks, which absorbed some of the most interesting one off Connemara bottlings of the decade.
Eleven years in ex-bourbon wood leave the peat bright and present, typically heather smoke over honey, green fruit and cereal sweetness in the classic younger Connemara style. Bottled at 46%, it is a snapshot of mid 1990s Cooley distillate, double distilled, gently smoky and made when peated Irish malt was still a one distillery cause.
