Description
Bottled in 2026 for an event release, this Clonakilty single cask is Irish single malt matured by the Co. Cork distillery and finished in a tawny Port pipe from the Calem lodge in Porto, cask 9645. Tawny Port, aged oxidatively, gives a different accent from the ruby casks the house more often reaches for.
After ex-bourbon first maturation, the tawny pipe layered fig, date and caramelised walnut over the malt's honey and orchard fruit. Bottled undiluted at 53%, it is rich without heaviness, the oxidative nuttiness of the tawny giving it an autumnal cast, and a little water teases out milk chocolate and dried apricot.
