Description
Cîroc is distilled in the south of France from French grapes rather than the usual grain, taken through five distillations to produce a smooth, fruit-tinged base spirit. That grape origin matters for this coconut bottling: grape brings a natural fruity lift that sits more easily with tropical flavour than a neutral grain spirit would. Onto that the brand layers creamy coconut, with the result reading velvety and well balanced, carrying coconut, gentle vanilla and a thread of citrus at 37.5%.
The nose is fresh and creamy with coconut, vanilla and citrus, the palate gentle, sweet and round with creamy coconut and tropical fruit, and the finish is long, soft and pleasantly sweet. To run with that coconut, build a Piña Colada twist: blend it with fresh pineapple, a little coconut cream and ice, where the spirit's own coconut and the grape's fruit lift double down on the tropical character while keeping the drink lighter than a rum version would be.
