Cîroc Apple takes the unusual grape-based French vodka and flavours it with crisp green apple. Where most vodka leans on grain, Cîroc is distilled from grapes grown in the Gaillac region, which gives it a fruity lift before any flavouring goes in. At 37.5% the apple reads fresh and tart rather than sweet.

Description
Cîroc is distilled in France from grapes rather than grain, fruit grown in the Gaillac region in the south west, and that base is what makes the brand distinctive. Grape spirit carries a natural fruity, slightly floral lift that grain does not, so it gives a flavoured vodka something to build on. For the Apple edition, that grape base is flavoured with fresh, slightly sweet green apple, and the strength is set at 37.5% so the fruit stays crisp and the spirit stays mild. The colour shows a light green shimmer.
The nose is full of green apple with a citrus edge and a hint of spice, the palate is fresh and fruity with clear apple, a touch of sweetness and a light vodka texture, and the finish is smooth and lingering. Match the grape base and apple flavour with an Apple Martini: shake the vodka with a little dry vermouth and fresh lemon, strain into a chilled coupe and float a thin slice of green apple on top. The grape lift gives the drink a rounder fruit than a grain vodka would, and the lemon keeps the apple sharp.
