Chita Distiller's Reserve is the headline NAS expression from Suntory's single grain distillery on the Chita peninsula in Aichi Prefecture. A global release positioned alongside the distillery's aged expressions, it showcases what Chita's multi-still setup can achieve when vatting light, medium and heavier grain types.
Matured across Ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks, the combination gives a broader flavour range than a single-wood maturation: vanilla and honey from the American oak, a warm dried-fruit note from the Oloroso, and a fresh, fragrant citrus quality with a subtle green and vegetable character. Delicate and easygoing at 43%, it represents Chita in an accessible, well-rounded form.
