Chichibu Paris Edition 2024

This distillery-bottled 2024 Paris Edition is one of several parallel releases from Chichibu targeting the French market in the same year, each sharing a core cask programme of Ex-Bourbon and red wine wood. Chichibu, Venture Whisky's Saitama distillery founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008, has the small-scale infrastructure and wide cask inventory that makes such annual multi-variant editions possible, with individual casks vatted differently for each release.

Bottled at cask strength 50.5%, the blend of bourbon barrel and red wine cask influence gives a profile orientated around fresh and dried fruit, a touch of vanilla and the soft tannin signature of wine wood. The house new make at Chichibu is distinctly fruit-forward and relatively light in texture, which means the cask additions read as complementary layers rather than heavy overlays, a balance the distillery consistently aims for across its single malt editions.
