This distillery-bottled 2024 Paris Edition from Chichibu draws on a combination of Ex-Bourbon and red wine cask maturation, the same cask profile shared with the La Maison du Whisky variant released in the same year for France. Chichibu, the Saitama distillery founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008, regularly produces parallel versions of its market editions under different bottlers, allowing collectors to compare presentations of related parcels side by side.

At cask strength 50.5%, the interplay of bourbon sweetness and red wine influence is expected to show as soft berry fruit, gentle tannin and a vinous rounding of the distillery's typically bright, orchard-led character. The house style at Chichibu leans toward vibrant fruit and clean grain, and the red wine cask addition here introduces a richer, more layered texture to what would otherwise be a straightforward Ex-Bourbon Saitama single malt.
