Description
Distilled at Chichibu in Saitama in 2010 and bottled in 2014, this single cask Ichiro's Malt expression was released for the Modern Malt Whisky Market, a Japan-market event release within the growing domestic appetite for distillery-bottled single casks. At 63.4% it is among the higher-ABV releases from this vintage.
Four years in Ex-Bourbon wood at this strength gives an intense, clean profile: fresh apple, tropical fruit and vanilla from the cask, with the new make's natural brightness amplified rather than softened by the limited maturation time. It is a direct and energetic release, characteristic of how Chichibu presented its young single cask whisky during the distillery's formative years at the Saitama site.
