Distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2025 for the Swedish market, this 8 Years Old single cask release sits under the Ichiro's Malt label and comes from Chichibu in Saitama, Venture Whisky's celebrated craft distillery founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008.
The maturation in a red wine cask sets this bottle apart within the Chichibu range. Where Ex-Bourbon wood draws out the distillery's typical vanilla and orchard fruit, red wine wood leans the profile toward darker fruit, dried berry and a subtle vinous tannic grip. Over eight years the interplay between the spirit's inherent fruitiness and the wine cask's contribution deepens considerably. Bottled at 59.5% at cask strength, no flavour data is on record but the cask type tells much of the story.
