Description
Ichiro's Malt is the brand used by Chichibu distillery in Saitama for both own-distillery single malts and selected blended expressions. This 2014 vintage single cask is a confirmed Chichibu single malt, bottled by Venture Whisky in 2022 for an event release at 64% cask strength, one of the highest ABVs in the current batch.
Eight years in an Ex-Bourbon barrel have produced the core Chichibu bourbon-cask profile: vanilla, fresh tropical fruit and clean barley sweetness from American oak meeting the distillery's inherently vivid and fruity new make. At 64%, the delivery is dense and concentrated, and the warmth of the high ABV amplifies both the cask and spirit characters. The finish is long and firm, with vanilla and fruit sustaining through the heat of the full-strength close.
