Description
Ichiro Akuto founded Chichibu distillery in Saitama in 2008 under the Venture Whisky company, reviving a tradition his family had maintained at Hanyu for generations. The Ichiro's Malt brand covers both Chichibu single malt and various blended expressions; this 2013 vintage single cask is a confirmed own-distillery release, bottled without age statement and without dilution at 62.3%.
Matured in an Ex-Bourbon barrel in the typical Chichibu style, the spirit has drawn vanilla, soft caramel and the house's signature orchard and tropical fruit from American oak. Without a declared age, the profile leans on the quality of the new make rather than extended wood contact, showing the distillery's hallmark brightness and precise fruit character at cask strength. The single-cask format presents the whisky in its most individual state, undiluted and unblended.
