Cask number 5732 is a 2016 vintage Chichibu single malt drawn from an Ex-Bourbon cask, selected and bottled in 2025 at 63.3% by La Maison du Whisky for the French market. Chichibu distillery in Saitama prefecture is Venture Whisky's craft flagship, established in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, and its partnership with LMDW has produced a long-running sequence of French market single cask releases.
Nine years in an Ex-Bourbon barrel gives this expression a longer contact with the American oak than many Chichibu casks reach, building a richer vanilla and caramel foundation beneath the distillery's characteristic orchard fruit and cereal brightness. The flavour profile data is blank for this cask, so the character here reflects Chichibu's typical Ex-Bourbon house note: clean, fruit-forward and sweetly spiced. At 63.3% it arrives with the concentration and directness expected of an undiluted single cask.
