A white Dominican rum from Compagnie des Indes, distilled from fresh cane juice on pot and column stills, fresh and grassy with sugarcane, citrus and florals, a gentle sweet-leaning forty percent built for daiquiris and easy mixing.
Description
Compagnie des Indes is a respected, terroir-minded French bottler, and Great White is its take on an unaged Dominican white, drawn from fresh sugar cane juice rather than the usual regional molasses. That cane-juice base gives it more in common with an agricole-style blanc than with a typical light ron, while staying soft and accessible.
Distilled on a combination of pot and column stills, it keeps a fresh, vegetal cane character, with sugarcane, grass, citrus and floral notes running through nose and palate to a clean, slightly oily finish. It leans a touch sweet for a white but stays light and easygoing, never aggressive. This is a mixing and daiquiri rum first, a friendly stepping stone into cane-juice spirit that holds its origin character while remaining very approachable at forty percent.
