This Cameronbridge was from the independent bottler Duncan Taylor matured to 27 year old distilled in 1979, from cask 3524 and bottled at 59.5%. 173 bottles in all. Cameronbridge is a vast Lowland grain distillery in Fife, working since 1824. It was the home of continuous distillation in Scotland; John Haig installed Stein then Coffey stills and made the country's first commercial grain whisky.

It was worked through column stills from wheat, for the light, sweet grain spirit Cameronbridge is known for. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, lending coconut and vanilla. By this age the sweet spirit rounds into vanilla, coconut and a soft oil. Years in cask build a waxy, polished depth over the clean grain spirit. Its single grain has long been sold as Cameron Brig, and since 2014 as Haig Club. Water comes from Loch Leven, the mash from wheat, the spirit off three column stills. It is among the largest distilleries in Europe, making well over a hundred million litres a year.

At a hearty 59.5% it carries real weight. The ex-Bourbon gives butterscotch, coconut and cream. It is soft and deep, the grain and oak well matched. Toffee and vanilla see out a long finish. This is a single grain from Scotland's largest grain distillery.
