Bristol Destileria Sofa 12 Years Old 2010 is a 12 Year Old Venezuelan ron from the 2010 vintage, bottled by Bristol Classic Rum, the long running English house known for sourcing liquid history from notable distilleries. Drawn from Venezuela's Destileria Sofa, it is column distilled, matured in ex-bourbon oak and presented at 47%.

Bristol's bottlings are mostly purist, and this Venezuelan leans fruity and balanced: a fruity, caramel, burnt sugar and tropical fruit nose with notes of varnish and cedar wood, then a sweet palate of banana, dried fruit and caramel, closing on wood, tropical fruit and a sweet, slightly thin finish. The texture is smooth and rounded, with cedar, fruit and a beeswax note running through, and the lower strength makes it an easy sipper. Drinkers note the nose outshines a slightly thin palate and short finish, but as a fruity, well aged Venezuelan it remains a satisfying, characterful pour.
