A pot still cachaca from Brazilian Pardin, a 7 Year Old single cask from 1423 World Class Spirits aged in ex-bourbon oak, full of orange, vanilla, baked apple, raisin and citrus, like an aged caipirinha in a glass at 45%.
Description
Brazilian Pardin Distillery S.B.S 2013/2017 is a Brazilian cachaca, a 7 Year Old single cask bottled by 1423 World Class Spirits under the S.B.S Single Barrel Selection line. Made from fresh pressed sugar cane juice rather than molasses, distilled on a pot still and matured in ex-bourbon oak, it is a cachaca rather than a rum proper, presented at 45%.
The fresh cane base and bourbon cask give a fruity, characterful profile: orange, vanilla, baked apple and wood on the nose, then raisin, citrus, sweetness and spice on the palate, closing on a bitter, oaky, spicy and coffee edge. Drinkers liken it to an aged cachaca that has already met lime and citrus, a caipirinha from the bottle, with raisin, tangerine and a long, warm, slightly bitter finish. It runs spicier than expected but stays balanced and rounded, the low sugar cap keeping it honest and dry. A pleasant, fruit driven single barrel cachaca for anyone wanting to explore aged Brazilian cane spirit.
