Bottega Cioccolato Nero Grappa Liqueur

Bottega is a family distillery in the Veneto, working grappa since Aldo Bottega introduced the first single varietal grappa and founded the distillery in 1977, now set in a restored 17th century farmhouse among its own vineyards. This dark chocolate liqueur, Cioccolato Nero, is built on pure cocoa with no added milk, which keeps it lactose free, sweetened and bottled at 15%.

The nose is intense chocolate and cocoa, the palate rich and smooth with chocolate and cocoa, the finish long on the palate. Behind the bar it adds genuine dark chocolate flavour, body and sweetness without dairy, a useful chocolate note for spirit forward and dessert drinks. It stirs into chocolate martinis and after dinner serves, deepens a mocha or coffee drink, and pairs with biscuits, cakes and ice cream. Serve it chilled and reach for it where a drink wants chocolate depth without cream.
