Böser Kater Juicy Fruits Likör is a fruit liqueur from the Edelobstbrennerei Schleihauf in Germany, a colourful blend of exotic and local fruits including orange, passion fruit, mango and berries, processed gently to keep the fruit fresh. It sits at 20%, and in the traditional macerated style of a fruit liqueur the sun ripened fruit leads while a light sweetness rounds it.

The nose is intense fruit, ripe citrus, passion fruit, mango and berries with a light sweetness, and the palate is fresh, fruity and lightly sweet, a juicy mix of tropical and orchard fruit. Behind the bar it is a fruit and acidity modifier: it lifts a Prosecco spritz, adds a fruity edge to a gin and tonic, and brightens a summer cooler with exotic flavour and a fine acidity that keeps the sweetness in check. It also pours neat over ice. Build it long with sparkling wine or tonic, and serve it cold.
