Böser Kater Dark Berry Likör

Böser Kater Dark Berry Likör is a dark fruit liqueur from the Edelobstbrennerei Schleihauf in Germany, built on ripe dark berries chosen for their intense flavour and natural sweetness. The blend runs to blackberry, blackcurrant and dark cherry, balanced so the fruit stays the centre. It sits at 20%, and in the traditional macerated style of a fruit liqueur the dark berries carry it with a fine sweetness rather than syrup.

The nose is intense ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and dark cherry with a light spice behind, and the palate is full bodied and fruity, sweet juicy berries cut by a subtly tart edge. Behind the bar it adds depth, body and a deep red colour: it carries a berry spritz, fills out a fruity sour, and stirs into spirit forward drinks where dark fruit is wanted. Enjoyed neat, chilled or over crushed ice it shows its fruitiness plainly. Pour it cold, or build it long over ice with soda.
