Bols Sour Apple Liqueur

Bols Sour Apple belongs to the fruit liqueur range of Lucas Bols, the Amsterdam house distilling and blending since 1575. Green apple is combined with a neutral distilled spirit and sugar into a vivid green liqueur at 17%, made in the traditional macerated style that pairs crisp apple flavour with a refreshing acidity.

The nose is fresh green apple with subtle citrus and a light sweetness, the palate fruity and crisp and sweet and sour with intense apple over a nuance of lime, the finish refreshing and slightly tart. Behind the bar it adds bright apple flavour, a tart and sweet balance and a strong green colour that lights up a glass. It is the apple in an Appletini, builds a Sour Apple Spritz with soda or sparkling wine, and works in apple fizzers and fruit sours.
