Bols Melon belongs to the fruit liqueur range of Bols, the Amsterdam house distilling and blending since 1575 and carrying around forty flavours for the working bar. Honeydew melon is combined with sugar and a neutral distilled spirit into a bright green liqueur at 17%, made in the traditional macerated style that balances fruity sweetness against a refreshing lightness.

The nose is fresh, sweet melon with tropical fruit and a subtle citrus note, the palate soft and fruity with intense honeydew, the finish light and pleasantly sweet. Behind the bar it adds melon flavour, gentle sweetness and a strong green colour, an easy modifier for bright, summery drinks. It carries a Melon Sour with lemon juice and a splash of soda, builds a Midori Sunrise with orange juice and grenadine, and lengthens cleanly into spritzes and long drinks. Pour it over ice and reach for it when a serve needs colour as much as fruit.
