Description
An event release from Boann Distillery in Drogheda, Co. Meath, bottled in 2025 in a run of 264. The whiskey is Boann's own single pot still spirit, triple distilled from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, matured in Tawny Port casks and bottled without dilution at 60.5%.
Tawny Port ages in wood until it turns nutty and amber, and its casks lend this whiskey walnut, soft caramel and dried cherry rather than the brighter berry fruit of Ruby pipes. Those notes ride the peppery, gingery spine of the pot still style, with a creamy mid palate from the unmalted barley and a long, warming cask strength finish of orange peel, raisin and toasted oak.
