Part of Boann's core single pot still range, this 2024 European release pairs Ex-Bourbon American oak with a Marsala butt from Sicily, an oxidative fortified wine cask still rare in Irish warehouses. The spirit beneath is Boann's own, triple distilled in Drogheda, Co. Meath from malted and unmalted barley, and it was bottled at 47%.

Marsala wood is generous, and here it folds chocolate, honey and candied citrus into the vanilla laid down by the Bourbon barrels. The pot still character keeps it savoury, a cooked mash graininess, ginger and black pepper running through the middle, and a fresh oak snap on the finish. It is an easy introduction to what the Drogheda distillery is about.
