Dhá Bhairille, Irish for two barrels, is the fifth Summer Solstice release from Boann Distillery in Drogheda, Co. Meath, and the name describes the recipe, a single malt vatted from just two casks, Oloroso hogshead 2301 and French oak barrique 2291. Bottled in 2025 at 59.6% for the Irish market, the pairing produced 554 bottles.

The Oloroso half brings dried fruit, walnut and a sherried richness, the French oak half a toasted, faintly tannic spice, and the vatting knits them together over a core of honey and malt extract. At full strength it is bold, nutty and toasted through the middle, and water opens orchard fruit beneath. It shows how much range Boann finds in so few casks.
