Description
Berliner Brandstifter is craft gin from the heart of the German capital, made in small batches and shaped around ingredients gathered from Berlin's surrounding nature. Alongside juniper sit elderflower, mallow blossom, fresh cucumber and woodruff, a quartet that reads more like a summer hedgerow than a spice rack, and they give the gin its unmistakable lightness. The result is fresh, urban and elegant, a portrait of the city's greener corners at 43.3% vol.
The nose is fresh and floral, elderflower and mallow blossom over gentle juniper with a cool hint of cucumber. The palate is soft and delicately spiced, floral accents and fresh herbs carried on a slight sweetness, and the finish is long and mild with lingering flowers and a touch of citrus. Build it into a gin and tonic with a dry tonic and a ribbon of fresh cucumber to draw out its garden-fresh character.
