Berentzen Waldmeister Likör

Berentzen Waldmeister is a woodruff liqueur from Berentzen, one of Germany's traditional distilleries in Lower Saxony, with roots reaching to 1758. It is built around the unmistakable flavour of woodruff over a mild base, its natural aroma and bright green colour the signature, bottled at a gentle 15%. In the traditional herbal liqueur style the lead herb defines the character, here kept sweet and fresh rather than bitter.

The nose is fresh woodruff with a light sweetness and subtle herbal notes, the palate sweet and mild with an intense woodruff flavour, the finish smooth and long with a fresh sweetness. Behind the bar it works as a sweet aromatic modifier, lending a fresh herb flavour and a green colour that recalls classic woodruff desserts. It is popular as a shot, neat or on ice, and lengthens well with lemonade, bitter lemon or sparkling wine for a refreshing long drink. Serve it well chilled.
