Description
Berentzen Caramel Cream Liqueur comes from Berentzen, the German distillery in Haselunne, Lower Saxony, founded in 1758 and long known for grain spirit and liqueurs. This is a sweet, creamy liqueur with caramel at its centre, rounded by a gentle vanilla note and a soft, milky body, bottled at 17%.
The nose is intense and sweet with caramel, a gentle vanilla note and a light milkiness, the palate creamy and full bodied with rich caramel sweetness over vanilla and a delicate fruity edge, the finish long and smooth with mild caramel and vanilla. Behind the bar it works as a dessert and body ingredient, adding caramel sweetness and a creamy weight to a Caramel White Russian, a Caramel Martini or a hot coffee drink, and it stands in for cream where caramel depth is wanted. It pours neat or over ice as a digestif. As a cream liqueur it should be kept cool once opened and used within a few months.
