Baileys created the cream liqueur category in 1974, marrying Irish whiskey with fresh dairy cream in a stable emulsion, and it remains the original and best selling name in its class. This variation combines the creamy smoothness of Irish cream and original Baileys Irish whiskey with natural strawberry flavours, bottled at 17% for a summery, fruit forward style.
The nose is sweet and fruity with fresh strawberry, cream and a hint of vanilla, the palate creamy, smooth and sweet with strawberry, vanilla and a light whiskey base, the finish long, fruity and velvety with a mild sweetness. Behind the bar it is a dessert and body ingredient, adding dairy richness and a berry sweetness to a summery cocktail with Prosecco or soda, a strawberry milkshake serve or a creamy long drink, and it stands in for cream where fruit is wanted. It pours neat over ice and dresses pancakes, cupcakes or ice cream. As a dairy product it should be kept cool once opened and used within a few months.
