Baileys created the cream liqueur category in 1974, marrying Irish whiskey with fresh dairy cream in a stable emulsion, and it remains the original and best selling name in its class, sold in over 150 countries. This edition keeps the classic recipe of fresh Irish cream from Irish cows and Irish whiskey, complemented by natural mint and chocolate, and is bottled at 17%.
The nose is fresh mint, soft chocolate and creamy notes, the palate soft and full bodied with sweet chocolate, cool mint and a creamy texture, the finish fresh and pleasantly sweet. Behind the bar it is a dessert and body ingredient with a built in mint chocolate lift, adding dairy richness and sweetness to a Grasshopper riff, an after dinner Espresso Martini or a layered serve, and it stirs into coffee or cocoa with ease. It pours neat or over ice and tops ice cream and desserts. As a dairy product it should be kept cool once opened and used within a few months.
