Description
This sparkling wine comes from the Wein- und Sektkellerei Karl Infuhr in Austria and is best known for the flakes of 23 carat gold leaf suspended in the bottle. It is a tank-method Sekt built for celebration and gifting, with the fruit fermented cool in stainless steel to hold onto its fresh, primary character. The magnum format and the gold leaf make it a table centrepiece for weddings and New Year, while the dry finish keeps it easy to drink.
The colour is bright straw yellow, lifted by the shimmer of the gold flakes and a lively perlage. The nose is fresh, with lemon and citrus over green apple, pear and white peach, and a light floral hint of white flowers and honeysuckle. The palate is dry and refreshing with a soft mousse and a clean, gently fruity finish. Serve well chilled at around 6 to 8 degrees. It suits an aperitif, fresh seafood, fruity salads and lighter desserts such as panna cotta or fruit sorbet.
