Austria Gold – with 23 carat gold leaf in gift box

Karl Inführ makes this dry Sekt at Klosterneuburg near Vienna, presented in a gift box and set apart by the fine 23-carat gold leaf that swirls in the glass when poured. The wine is produced in a tank-based style that preserves fresh fruit and a lively bead, an approach well suited to light, aromatic Austrian grapes such as Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling. The style is deliberately dry and moderate in alcohol, keeping it clean and easy, while the gold finish and packaging make it a natural gift for weddings, anniversaries and upscale receptions.

The colour is a light golden yellow, alive with suspended gold flakes and a lively bead. The nose shows fresh orchard fruit with floral nuances. The palate is dry, refreshing and clearly structured, with gentle acidity, green apple and citrus, and a mineral finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a stylish aperitif and pairs with elegant starters, fine white fish, seafood and light salads.
