Description
Karl Inführ makes this rosé Sekt at Klosterneuburg near Vienna, and its signature detail is the 23-carat gold leaf that moves through the glass in fine flakes when poured. The wine is produced in a tank-based style that keeps the fruit fresh and the bead lively, a fitting approach for a rosé built on light, aromatic Austrian grapes such as Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling. The moderate alcohol and gently off-dry balance keep the style accessible, and the gold finish makes it a natural choice for celebrations and gifting.
The colour is a delicate salmon pink shot through with gold flakes and a lively bead. The nose shows fresh red berries, raspberry and strawberry, with a floral nuance. The palate is fresh and light, its soft sweetness rounded by an invigorating finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass so the gold shows. It works as a celebratory aperitif and pairs with fruit desserts, macarons and raspberry panna cotta, or salmon canapés and soft goat cheese.
