Austria Gold Rosé – with 23 carat gold leaf in gift box

Karl Inführ produces this rosé Sekt at Klosterneuburg near Vienna, presented here in a gift box, and refined with real 23-carat gold leaf that catches the light in the glass. The wine is made in a tank-based style that keeps its red fruit fresh and its bead lively, a sensible route for a rosé built on light Austrian grapes such as Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling. A gently off-dry balance and moderate alcohol give an easy, accessible style, while the gold finish and packaging make it a ready gift for weddings, anniversaries and celebrations.

The colour is a pretty rosé deepened by suspended gold flakes and a fine bead. The nose is fresh and floral, with red berries and a citrus edge. The palate is harmonious, its raspberry and strawberry fruit lifted by a light sweetness and a refreshing, gently dry close. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It works as a reception drink and pairs with fresh seafood, fruity salads and light desserts such as panna cotta or fruit tarts.
