Description
Armand de Brignac is produced in Champagne by the Cattier family at Chigny-les-Roses and is known for its polished metallic bottle. The rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier drawn from several vintages, with a portion of still red wine for its colour and red-fruit tone. It is made by the traditional method, with the second fermentation and lees autolysis in bottle, followed by extended ageing on the lees that builds a creamy, biscuity depth. The dosage is Brut.
The colour is a bright salmon pink with a fine, persistent bead. The nose leads with strawberry, raspberry and red currant, backed by white peach, toasted bread and a creamy lees note. The palate is full and dry, with ripe red fruit, firm acidity and a long, structured finish. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white-wine glass, as an aperitif or with poultry, salmon and lighter game.
