Powerful and dry, this Brazilian navy-strength gin layers earthy açai and cocoa over juniper, lemon zest and a warm thread of cinnamon. Distilled in small copper-still batches with ten Amazonian botanicals, it lands at a bold 51% with bitter-chocolate depth on the close. Big, complex and made for a serious Negroni.

Description
Amázzoni Rio Negro comes from Destilaria Amázzoni, Brazil's first dedicated gin distillery, set in a restored manor house near Rio de Janeiro. Distilled the traditional way in copper stills and only in small batches, it pairs carefully chosen juniper with ten other botanicals drawn largely from the Amazon — among them cocoa, açai, cinnamon, lemon peel, coriander seeds, bay leaf and chestnut. At 51% it is a true navy-strength gin with real depth.
The nose is expressive, citrus and herbs over cinnamon, açai, cocoa and a hint of juniper. The palate is powerful, complex and dry, earthy tones meeting ripe fruit, pepper, lemon zest and a spicy depth, and the finish runs long with bitter chocolate, herbs and a fine minerality. Sip it neat or over ice, or build it into a robust Negroni alongside grilled meat or dark chocolate.
