Description
AI Galli Merlot Rosé Frizzante is a semi-sparkling wine from the Veneto, bottled at IGT level. It is made from red Merlot vinified as a rosé, giving a pink wine with gentle red-fruit character. As a frizzante it carries a softer, lighter fizz than a fully sparkling Prosecco, with the second fermentation carried out in pressurised stainless steel to keep the fruit fresh and primary. It is bottled young and finished dry, so the red fruit stays crisp.
The colour is a light cherry pink with a soft, fine bead. The nose is red-fruited, with strawberry, raspberry and cherry over a touch of white flowers, and the palate is dry, fresh and lightly frothy with red currant and pomegranate on a clean finish. Serve well chilled at around 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass, as an aperitif or with charcuterie, light salads and grilled poultry.
